Deepawali, or Diwali, is the festival of lights, signifying the victory of light over darkness. While many celebrate this festival with their families, there are countless individuals who spend this day in loneliness or hardship. At Kathak Dharohar, we believe in the spirit of community and the power of compassion.
In November 2013, our team embarked on a mission to spread the warmth and joy of Diwali to those less fortunate. Venturing into the Chandni Chowk area, we shared diyas (lamps) and sweets with people living on the footpaths. This gesture, though small, was a means of letting them know that they are not alone, that they are a part of a larger family, and that there is always hope and light in the world. Our members, many of whom are artists, understand deeply that human emotions and art are intertwined, and both form the core essence of humanity.
