In June 2014, Kathak Dharohar undertook a profound and eye-opening initiative by organizing a dance workshop at the Adra district in Purulia, West Bengal. This workshop was tailored for over 80 students who come from families afflicted by leprosy. It was a stark realization that even in this age of technology and awareness, the shadow of untouchability looms large.
The workshop not only imparted dance skills but also served as a beacon of hope and acceptance for these students. Former M.P. of Lok Sabha, Mr. Basudev Acharia, graced the workshop and pledged his support. Every participant received Certificates of Appreciation, ghungroos, and books. In addition, Kathak Dharohar made donations to the Manipur Leprosy Centre at Adra.
