Human Rights Day, observed globally on December 10th, commemorates the day the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. For Kathak Dharohar, the day was not just about reflection but about action.
The team, accompanied by Sadanand Biswas, visited a Kashmiri Refugee Colony in Delhi. Situated behind the Shastri Park Metro Station, the first impressions of the colony were stark. The challenges of displacement, lack of hygiene, and the overarching sense of despair were evident. However, amidst these adversities, there was a resilience and hope that was awe-inspiring.
In an effort to bring some warmth and comfort, the team distributed winter clothes to the residents. These gestures, though small, aimed to convey a message of solidarity, love, and understanding. The visit served as a poignant reminder that while policies and declarations are essential, it's the on-ground actions that truly make a difference.
