The International Day of Yoga, a testament to the ancient Indian practice's global appeal, was celebrated with fervor by Kathak Dharohar at Lalita Park in Laxmi Nagar, Delhi. The event was more than just about striking yoga poses. It was a comprehensive journey into the heart of yoga, exploring its various facets, both physical and spiritual.
Under the expert guidance of Yogacharya S.P Rana, participants were introduced to various yoga postures. Each posture was explained, not just in terms of its physical alignment but also the deeper benefits it brings to the mind and soul. The event saw participation from around 25 enthusiastic individuals, each bringing their unique energy, making the gathering a melting pot of shared experiences.
Beyond the practice, participants were enlightened on the holistic benefits of yoga. From enhancing physical flexibility to calming the mind and nurturing spiritual growth, yoga was portrayed as a way of life, not just a form of exercise. The success of the event could be gauged from the glowing faces and the enthusiasm with which each participant engaged.
A special note of gratitude was expressed towards India's Honorable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. His initiative to introduce yoga at the UNGA and the subsequent resolution to recognize the importance of yoga and designate an International Day for it was lauded. The event was not just a celebration of yoga but a reaffirmation of its timeless relevance in today's fast-paced world.
