Leprosy, often misconstrued as a curse, has led to the marginalization of countless individuals, stripping them of basic human rights and societal acceptance. On World Earth Day, Kathak Dharohar took a monumental step towards eradicating this prejudice. A dance workshop was organized at the Manipur Leprosy Centre, located in the eastern part of India.
This initiative was more than just teaching dance. It was a clarion call against societal prejudice, a step towards abolishing untouchability, and a celebration of shared humanity. The participants, despite their health challenges, embraced the dance form with unparalleled enthusiasm, proving that passion and spirit are immune to physical afflictions.
