November 2017 saw Kathak Dharohar taking its art form to the spiritual town of Rishikesh. Invited by the Virat Hindustan Sangam and Parmarth Niketan, the team showcased their performance at an event titled "Samrasta & Swachhta Samelan."
The backdrop of Rishikesh, with the serene Ganges flowing and the Himalayas towering, added a mystical aura to the performance. The team, comprising five performers, including Sadanand himself, presented the concept "Ashotoma Sadgamaya," a choreographic brilliance by Sadanand. The fusion of traditional Kathak with contemporary nuances left the audience spellbound.
Beyond the dance, the event was a celebration of unity, purity, and the quest for enlightenment. The performance, with its intricate footwork, expressive narratives, and rhythmic beats, resonated with the spiritual ambiance of Rishikesh. The applause and appreciation that followed were a testament to the team's dedication and the power of Kathak to transcend boundaries.
